Welcome to
the Oceanside
Chamber of Commerce! After the most challenging economy in our lifetimes, the
Chamber has begun to regain membership. I am happy to let you know that,
following a steep decline in our ranks, membership is steadily increasing. Our
membership is hovering around 700 today.
The Board
of Directors is focused on providing maximum value to you for your membership investment.
Our success is tied to our members' success. The Chamber’s vision is to create
a prosperous community.
To achieve
our mission of the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce:
Is an advocate for business
Provides and promotes business alliance opportunities and
community involvement
Provides valuable benefits and services to our members
Communicates the view of the business community on issues of
public policy
Is a leader in initiating, promoting and supporting economic
development
We are
focused on Board Development. Recently three of the largest employers in Oceanside have taken
seats on the Board. We are delighted to have them and welcome your input on how
to further strengthen the Board. Please let me know if you have an interest in

Oceanside has the distinction of being the
first larger city to partner with Google to pilot their indoor mapping product.
It will do for indoor public places what Google Maps has done for navigating
out of doors. Our members can benefit by showcasing their business and current
offerings that will pop up in a bubble, when scrolled over Google Maps by a
mouse. The public benefits by Google Indoor Maps by being able to easily find
what they want, when and where they want it. Imagine a visitor navigating with
Google Maps to the Oceanside to Museum of Art and upon arrival, their smart phone
displaying a guide to the current exhibitions inside the museum, or coming to
City Hall and being able to find the Department you need to help you expand or
improve your business.
Our Public
Policy committee keeps abreast of issues that concern all of us. We and let our
collective voice be heard on issues and propositions that impact our firms and
livelihoods. Let your voice be heard, please join us at the next meeting on the
first Thursday of the month at 7:30 a.m., in the Chamber Board room. There you
can meet elected officials, representatives of various organizations, and
others concerned about decisions that impact your business and quality of life.
The
Oceanside Chamber of Commerce is here to serve you and your business as a
resource. We offer countless opportunities for you to network, advertise, and
keep up with your current business needs.
