Burnsville Blues

Burnsville Blues is one of San Diego’s favorite, most energetic rock -n- blues bands. Their soulful vocals, blistering guitars, tight-pocket rhythms, and smoking keyboards will keep you rocking, dancing and grooving all night long. Mixing eclectic styles of Texas blues, rock, and R&B, they are making waves on the strength of their live shows, outstanding musicianship, and unique sound. Never stale, Burnsville Blues constantly mixes tempos and styles that are appreciated by dancers, modern music lovers, and blues aficionados alike.

Burnsville Blues is currently recording their first CD featuring original compositions in a greasy mixture of blues, rock, and soul. The buzz is spreading rapidly about this dynamic band. Their popularity has grown quickly, and as John Litz, former General Manager of San Diego's House of Blues ranted, "You guys tore the roof off the house Saturday night. Everyone in your band is very talented and you are seriously monster players. It felt good to feel that sort of energy and vibe, everyone loved you guys."

Burnsville Blues is booked at many popular clubs including House of Blues, Humphrey's BSL, and Patrick's II where they perform regularly. Blues Lovers United of San Diego brought them instant recognition after they performed to a capacity crowd at the 2007 local International Blues Challenge, which expanded their fan base greatly. And fans have been clamoring for a CD ever since. With the expected completion of "Get Me A Job" by summer 2009, Burnsville Blues plans to embark on their 2nd tour of California delighting fans from San Diego to Lake Ta

The Buzzbombs

Hailing from San Diego, California, The Buzzbombs are an infectious mix of rockabilly, swing, rock-n-roll, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and Budweiser all mixed in one. A three-piece ensemble consisting of Johnny Fuego on guitar and vocals, Johnny Diablo on upright bass and vocals, and Johnny Maestro on skins, The Buzzbombs bring back the glory days of Rock-N-Roll, with a bit of today’s rambunctious attitude to make it go down smooth. Call it Elvis on speed, call it Buddy Holly in an epileptic fit, call it whatever you want so long as you grab a beer, cut a rug, and sing along. The Buzzbombs put on a show unlike anything you’ve ever seen. One part Americana and one part explosive live performance complete with tricks, stunts, and crowd participation. People don’t forget a Buzzbombs show.

Constantly working and in demand, the Buzzbombs can be found all over San Diego, in bars such as

The Belly Up, The Surf N Saddle, Hennessey’s, The Harp, The 710 Club, The Radio Room, and at

numerous street festivals such as the Adams Ave Street Fair. They have also played numerous weddings, private parties, and corporate events.

 Hip Trigger

Hip Trigger is the high energy dance\rock cover band for Southern California. The band was formed in June 2007, and it encompasses a unique collection of musical talent with experience dating back to the late 1970s. They bring together classically trained musicians and players with harder edged pop and rock backgrounds. This when combined with members who have supported country western, jazz, blues, and bluegrass allows the band to support an extremely diverse selection of music types.

Hip Trigger is not your typical Classic Rock band. Their ability to embrace and move between almost any form of music allows this band to appeal to a larger range of audiences than most other bands, and they leave the audience anxiously guessing what the band will play next. They frequently see parents and children responding to the same collection of hits as they perform well-known pieces that appeal to more than just one age, gender, or background. Hip Trigger keeps the audience on their toes and on the dance floor as they play instantly recognizable but less typical music than those same old songs that are being burned out by the other performing acts. As stated by a patron at a recent public event, “You guys play great music, and it’s such a nice change from the other bands they have here.” They believe having an emphasis on some of the lesser played and somewhat more difficult covers is what sets Hip Trigger apart.

Irieside

Oceanside reggae outfit Irieside completely embodies originality and personal style and are a force to be reckoned with. Irieside is Anthony Williams — their energetic emcee and lead man, sharing vocal duties while also carrying on lead guitar duties is Ben Blessing, Steven Stotelmyre is on the bass and backup vocals, Arjay Pantig is on trumpet and backup vocals, and Sid Hilarides lays down the beats at each show. Irieside’s sound is both a hybrid of reggae and rock, punk and folk with hip hop influences. The band has flourished in our scene and abroad since forming back in 2003. Set from the beginning to hit the “big stage,” this band has been plugging away at solidifying their sounds and style and the county has supported them every inch of the way.

In doing so, the band has established itself its own presence among the greats within the San Diego music scene. Their shows have run the gamut: from insane frat parties and dingy local bar dives (Squid Joe’s, Royal Dive), to the larger venues like The Belly Up, The Galaxy and The Coach House, and even festivals like Fiesta del Sol. The guys have opened up for world famous acts like Barrington Levy, Common Sense, Maxi Priest and countless — and I mean countless — local acts. Irieside is known to just about any and all who love the local scene.

The LeperKhanz

The LeperKhanz are an experimental troupe of musicians that mix ancient sea shanties, Irish fiddle, reggae, classical, modern hip-hop, disco and heavy metal. Originally formed in 2003, they have toured throughout the United States.  The LeperKhanz are committed to bringing folk music back to the people, and making it accessible to the public at large and more enjoyable and popular than the oft rehashed commercial pop of MTV and E!.

Their 2005 studio album "Tiocfaidh Ar La" (Irish for "Our day will come" which has been known as an IRA slogan, though they claim no affiliation, other than "Our day will ALSO come.") has been played on radio stations in both the US and Ireland (FM94.9 San Diego, KCXX-FM X103.9 San Bernardino, KRBD-FM 105.9 Ketchikan, others), is popular on "Paddy Rock Radio" in Chicago, and has sold thousands of copies on iTunes besides being nominated for a San Diego Music Award.

 The Mighty Regis

2008 L.A. MUSIC AWARD WINNER, "MUSICAL GROUP OF THE YEAR"
2008 HOLLYWOOD MUSIC AWARD NOMINEE, "PUNK SONG OF THE YEAR" ("CELTIC STORM")

This band of misfits don't have much of a story if you ask them but here 'tis:
Young Gavin McLoud had the idea to form a band with some of the best musicians in all of Ireland...it didn't quite work out that way. So instead he asked the help of his friend Ronnie McDonald, a local music teacher and the nicest of people.  The fellas then found a drummer when Gavin's schoolyard chum, Gabby Byrne, was released from prison, having been mistaken for an IRA soldier. Next came the search for the perfect frontman. Gavin looked and looked and finally had no other choice then to ask his half brother Francis "Franky" McNorman. A failed soccer player, Franky doesn't like his brother and doesn't like to sing, but not having any other football teams in Ireland to get kicked off of Franky reluctantly joined. While touring through the Dingle Peninsula after about a year together, they picked up a hitchhiking rabbinical student named Paddy McRib. Convinced that a life dedicated to music and making people happy would be more pleasin' to the Lord, young Paddy traded his yalmulka and tallit set for a used accordion and never looked back.  The final pieces were added when Franky heard the voice of an angel during Mass one fateful Sunday, and the lovely Ryan O'Neill was brought on board.  Finally, the band's biggest fan, Darby, an orphan boy who couldn't even afford a last name, filled a void at bass, and hopes his real parents will one day come to a gig.

After conquering their native country, the greatest show band in Ireland set sail for the States, landing in the pinnacle of Irish punk rock, Molly Malone's in Los Angeles.  The birthplace of Flogging Molly gave The Mighty Regis a prime St. Patrick's Day 2007 spot and a Thursday night residency, all within the band's first year of existence.

The Pogues, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, The Clancy Brothers, The Dubliners, Beastie Boys, Run-DMC, 50-Cent, Jerry Reed...as Franky says, "At a Mighty Regis show, EVERYONE'S Irish."

  New Day Mile

New Day Mile have spent almost five years building their sound scape which has brought them a loyal fan base in Southern California. In 2008 the boys entered Strate Sound Studios in Santee, CA with acclaimed engineer and producer Alan Sanderson who has worked with a laundry list of musicians (Elvis Costello, Rolling Stones) and came out with their second CD “Damn Strate” in the fall of 2008. Shortly thereafter the band were invited to play the VIPER ROOM by Metal Sanaz.

In June 2009 “The Mile” opened up for Texas prog legends KINGS X to a packed house at Brick by Brick in San Diego. The following month brought the band a San Diego Music Award Nomination for their CD “Damn Strate”. The band celebrated with a show at HOUSE OF BLUES on Saturday August 29th with all their fans, friends and family.

Formed at the dawn of 2005, by Guitarist/vocalist James Brady and Drummer Frank Dolan, New Day Mile set out to write great songs that employ musical muscle combined with hooks you can sing along with. At one of the band’s first shows they were described as “A local band with international flair” by Indietude.com. In the past year the band have been interviewed or a topic of interest in The San Diego Reader, Metal Monthly, Bohemio Radio and have had their songs spun on San Diego stations Rock 105.3 and 91x as well as internet radio stations such as Bare bones Music Network.

With the addition of Bassist Dave “Almighty” Garcia last April, the band plan to begin writing their next record this fall and have been approached for an upcoming movie soundtrack! Stay Tuned!

Punk Rock High School

The Soundtrack for Punk Rock High School was born out of El Camino High School in Oceanside. Senior, Aidan Spencer of Midnight Rose, approached teacher, Tom Voris (also of the band The Fabulous Rudies) to start the Rock Band Music Club at the high school. Though hesitant, Voris agreed after 2 more students, Chris Dobbins & Matt Berry of Without Warning, let him listen to their 4-song demo. Without Warning would be the first of a handful of bands from the high school to record a few songs that would lead to the Soundtrack PRHS. Though the film is in its infant stage, the Soundtrack should be finished before the summer of 2009. Stay in touch w/ this Web site as the story continues and these talented young bands come to a venue near you!

Upstream

It’s been quite a wild ride for the members of Upstream, formed in the republic of Trinidad and Tobago in the late 1980’s and reformed in southern California in the early 1990’s, with six CD’s under their belt, and a very impressive live performance reference, Upstream has certainly earned the right to be called a seasoned musical outfit.

Band leader "Haile Blackman" (Lead Vocals, Guitar, Drums, Record Producer & MPC Guardian), will, without hesitation, readily explain that Upstream’s ultimate purpose is to take their audience on a journey, a temporary escape from themselves and a permanent escape from boredom. The band boasts a very seasoned and celebrated line up, Professor Einstein Brown (Steel Drum, Lead & Background Vocals), John McKnight (Lead Guitar, Keyboards, Bass, Trombone & Background Vocals), Stokely Molineaux (Bass, Lead & Background Vocals) and Johnny Blackman (Drums & Background Vocals).

In addition, the following musician’s are on rotation with Upstream and now a part of the Upstream Family:  Derek Brewster (Steel Drum, Bass & Background Vocals) & Adam Arredondo, a.k.a. Jah Mex (Keyboards & Background Vocals).

Hypnosis by Ron

Ron Owens is a Navy Vet and Professional Firefighter who has worked with the Federal Fire Department, San Diego and Rota Spain; he currently works for the City of Oceanside in the Fire Prevention Branch.

Hypnosis has always been a passion of mine, in the sixth grade I had purchased a six pack of Bazooka Bubble Gum, (I sold the pieces for extra cash) for those who don’t know, Bazooka Bubble Gum had advertisements, two of which intrigued him tremendously, the first was a pair of x-ray glasses, the second was a hypnotic circle (by the way the x-ray glasses didn’t work).

Investigating the science of hypnosis further and being wild and immature, with the attention span of an aardvark I discounted the practice until about a decade ago when I stumbled upon it once again through a colleague, I have been studying and practicing it ever since.

I speak to various groups about the science of hypnosis not only for lifestyle changes but for the entertainment side as well I have traveled the world therefore having the opportunity to performed hypnosis here and abroad, many of his videos can be seen on www.Youtube.com

Keynotes, Member National Guild of Hypnotist, American Board of Hypnotherapists, Comedy Hypnosis, Capo Valley Grad night, Wal-Mart Christmas party, City of Buena Park Christmas party, Oceanside High Health Academy, Oceanside Harbor Days, Private Parties and various venues in between.
