In 1952 representatives of the Carlsbad, Oceanside
and Vista Chambers of Commerce identified a need for
a modern local hospital to serve a growing
community. They joined together in 1955 to form the
Tri-City Hospital Association to oversee and
coordinate the formation of Tri-City Healthcare
District, the governing arm of Tri-City Medical
Center.
We are recognized nationally for our excellent
medical and professional staff, state-of-the-art
medical care and highly rated patient services. We
are a designated Joint Commission Stroke Center and
a San Diego County designated Cardiac Treatment
Center. We offer a wide array of quality programs
ranging from maternity and advanced neonatal
services, orthopedics, neurology, advanced
interventional radiology, including a new 64 Channel
Multi-Slice CT Scanner and new digital mammography
technology and a multitude of specialty services. We
have 569 physicians representing 60 specialties and
sub-specialties. We are Gold Seal approved by the
Joint Commission, meeting the national standards for
healthcare quality.
We offer 24/7 expertise from physicians using the
latest emergency medical technology. As the second
busiest emergency room in San Diego County, we treat
more than 70,000 residents annually. We remain at
the forefront in planning for regional disaster
response and in the event of a disaster are prepared
to serve as a community medical receiving center for
ill and injured patients.
We are focused on supporting the communities we
serve with healthcare education, responding to
requests for special programs, and actively leading
and volunteering for countless community causes
promoting an improved quality of life in North SD.
