 | Glowing with colored light, the OMA lobby will come alive with the new installation, Under Alien Seas: An Artist’s Conception of Life that Might Exist Beyond our Planet. Informed by his interest in bioluminescence, the possibility of life on other planets, and underwater scientific expeditions, William Leslie, with his apprentices Alessandra Colfi and Nathan Harrenstein, collaborated with LED lighting specialists, Chris and Lisa Isaacson, creating a unique series of light sculptures. Each individual artwork is crafted from thin strips of wood covered with paper soaked in polyvinyl resin and internally lit. Meet the Artists and hear more about their work during a walk and talk through the Lobby exhibit space on Saturday, July 14 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The reception is free for OMA members, students and military and complimentary with museum admission. |
