    MiraCosta College Achieves Yoga Certification

The MiraCosta College Yoga Teacher Training Program has been certified by the prestigious Yoga Alliance, which means the program and course work offered at the college meets the rigorous standards set forth by this nationally recognized alliance. After completing the program, MiraCosta College students will be prepared to take and pass the Alliance certification exams.

Alliance certification means MiraCosta College’s Yoga Teacher Training Program has met a major department goal, a critical aspect of enabling students to earn living wages in a growing industry.

“Thank you to our excellent yoga instructor team including Stacy McCarthy, Ally Wheatley, Claire Petretti, Amanda Kriebel, Lindsey Steinriede and Kamlesh Singh, who worked very hard with the professional assistance of technical writer Cindy Dudley on curriculum that ensured the college would secure this prestigious certification,” says Dean of Career & Technical Education Al Taccone. “And very special thanks to Associate Instructor of Kinesiology Stacy McCarthy, who led the direct efforts with the Yoga Alliance, and to Robert Fulbright, department chair for his relentless pursuit of this “certification.”
