Tri-City Medical Center Groundbreaking
First Major Construction in Two Decades
Oceanside – As a physical testimony to the turnaround of Tri-City Medical Center, the official groundbreaking of the new 57,476 sq.ft. medical office building took place Friday, October 14. Business, civic, and elected officials from the community were on hand as were Tri-City Hospital District Board members, the executive team and physicians. The first ceremonial shovels of dirt were tossed on the site of the new, state-of-the-art building which will house physician offices and the Orthopaedic and Spine Institute. Tri-City Hospital District Board Chairperson RoseMarie Reno said this new building – which is the first major project in almost two decades at Tri-City – is significant because it will put a new, modern face on the medical center. Developer Rich Landreth of Landreth Development detailed some of the attributes of the ‘green’ building such as the easily-accessible, patient-friendly entrance and a new signal light on Vista Way. Dr. Neville Alleyne, Orthopaedic and Spine Institute board member and medical director of spine surgery said the new building will help attract top primary care and specialty physicians to Tri-City. The building is scheduled to open fall 2012.
