The Classical Academies hosted a Literacy Campaign reception honoring donors who contributed on March 15, 2012. First initiated in November 2011, the goal of the Literacy Campaign was to supply Classical Academy K-8 students with Lexia reading software. Honorees included John and Michelle Boyd, The Ware Group, The Issa Family Foundation, Waxie Sanitary Supplies, Qualcomm Matching Employee Grant, and Young Life Oakbridge.
Also in attendance were Executive Director Cameron Curry and Classical Academy Principal Jalyn Hall. The goal of the Literacy Campaign was to raise funds to supply Classical Academy students with Lexia reading software to be used in the classroom.
The Lexia reading software includes 20 licenses and 18 months of on line hosting. It has a value of $20,000, which will benefit over 400 students, teachers, and parents. The Lexia software also has the ability to track student progress daily and annually.
