Oceanside Chamber Experiences Close to 90% Increase in Website Traffic

 

Thousands of consumers each month are using the Oceanside Chamber website, (http://www.OceansideChamber.com) to search for what they need in Oceanside. The site has had over 131,000 visits in the past year, up almost 90% over the previous year.

 

Top searches on the site consistently include Visitor Information, Event Information and Local Business Searches. “Considering all that Oceanside has to offer to visitors, it’s really no surprise that we get such strong traffic from people looking for accommodations, attractions and events”, said Scott Ashton, Sales and Marketing Director for the Chamber. “What we’re really pleased about is how often our online business directory is being used. This shows that consumers associate credibility and trust with Chamber member businesses.”

 

According to a survey done for the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), "Consumers are 63% more likely to buy goods and services in the future from a company that they believe is a member of the local chamber of commerce." Ashton added, “The traffic we are getting in our online business directory is very consistent with the ACCE survey.”

 

The Chamber recently launched an updated website that provides easier access to the information most frequently searched on the site. For example, the front page of the site now has quick access buttons for dining, accommodations, local shopping and community events.

 

While the Chamber is very highly ranked the for “Oceanside CA” Google keyword search, the Chamber continues to use social media outlets to proactively drive traffic to the site. The Chamber’s Youtube Channel (www.Youtube.com/oceansidechamber), has over 200 videos and over 14,000 views. The Chamber also has close to 2,500 twitter followers (http://www.twitter.com/osidecachamber) and 850 Facebook Likes (http://www.Facebook.com/OceansideChamber).

 

“We use our Social Media outlets to connect with our members and help them connect with one another.  Social media is the most popular networking tool today and it is imperative that the Oceanside Chamber stays relevant.  We are constantly interacting with our members on our social media websites and keep our pages up to date with current member news and information”, said Kierstin Hill, Marketing Assistant for the Chamber.
