Army and Navy Academy Warrior Band to Play May 17 at Padres-Dodgers Game

CARLSBAD, Calif. – The Army and Navy Academy’s Atkinson Warrior Band will play

May 17 at a home San Diego Padres game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The 65-piece marching band of middle and high school cadets will play the national

anthem before the 7:05 p.m. game at downtown San Diego’s Petco Park.

The occasion is nearly one year after the Warrior Band was invited to take part in the

National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, DC. Since then, the band has performed

in several regional venues, including last month aboard the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier

Museum.

Founded in 1910, the Army and Navy Academy (www.armyandnavyacademy.org) is a

private not-for-profit institution that provides an academically robust, character-based

education for 7th- through 12th-grade young men. It is the only private boarding school in

San Diego County and the only military academy for high school-age students in

California and surrounding states.
