Simple Business Video Marketing Earns Innovator of the Year Award Months After Owner Graduates
SAN DIEGO, AUG 12 – Less than two months after graduating cum laude from the University of California at San Marcos (CSUSM), Owen Hemsath received another important distinction when his business, Simple Business Video Marketing (SBVM), was honored with the Innovator of the Year Award from the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce on July 18th.
According to the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce, the Innovator of the Year award is given to a business that “has a unique vision or has created a product or service that will benefit our community and demonstrates original ideas.”
Hemsath credits CSUSM with helping to prepare him to be a successful business owner. “I am absolutely thrilled that the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce recognized Simple Business Video Marketing as an innovative contributor to the local business community,” said Hemsath. “This award demonstrates the ability of CSUSM to produce high quality citizens and business people through their education and training programs.”
Hemsath began freelance video work in 2010 while attending the CSUSM’s media program. While at school, he established Simple Business Video Marketing, which uses video as a foundational tool to generate leads for local businesses. He also tapped two fellow CSUSM alums to work for SBVM - Jeff Warlick as Head Animator and Editor and Shaun Anderson as Director of Photography.
Hemsath received his Bachelor of Arts in media from the University of California at San Marcos on May 19th, 2012.
“We saw a need in the business community for effective use of video to market small business, and we blended it with what we learned how to do at CSUSM,” added Hemsath.
SBVM provides a wide array of video marketing, SEO and online marketing services to local business owners in San Diego, including Oceanside.
