SANDAG reaches out to businesses to conduct survey
Between now and May 2013, your business may be contacted by firms hired by the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) to participate in a survey on work-related travel, such as delivering goods, attending meetings, and making sales visits.
Your participation in this survey is crucial as SANDAG strives to improve the transportation system to accommodate current and future needs in the San Diego region. As the official government agency responsible for transportation planning for this region, SANDAG has the support of many groups in the research effort, including the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The survey focuses on how people travel as part of performing work duties. It will collect travel information for a single 24-hour period. The survey forms will be simple to complete, and will be available in both English and Spanish. The information collected will only be used by SANDAG and its partner transportation agencies for planning purposes.
Companies selected to participate in the survey will first receive an introductory recruitment letter in the mail. Survey staff will follow up with a phone call to confirm participation in the study. They will collect basic information about the establishment, coordinate the selection of a travel day for surveying, deliver the survey materials, provide assistance and answers during the survey, and collect the survey materials at the end.
HBA Specto Inc., HDR Engineering, and National Data Services are assisting SANDAG with the survey. To learn more, visit sandag.org/wrts.
Your cooperation in the survey will be greatly appreciated.
