CLARIFYING LIST FROM GOVERNOR
On March 19, 2020, Governor Newsom issued an Executive Order directing all to stay home, except as needed to maintain continuity of operations of essential critical sectors and to protect health and well-being of all Californians. The Governor’s Office released a list of job sectors with clarifying details. Essential businesses should also practice social distancing by keeping employees and customers at least six feet apart. Governor Video Update The City Council, City Manager and staff at the City of Oceanside want you to know that we are here and working hard to provide services to the Oceanside community and to safeguard the health and safety of residents. The City's Emergency Operations Center is activated and meeting, reviewing and updating plans and preparations to anticipate and respond to developments in our community. First responders are fully staffed, trained, and protecting our community and responding to calls for emergency service. Oceanside’s water facilities are in full working order and ready to continue meeting the community's needs. Our water treatment processes include filtration and disinfection. This removes and kills viruses, including COVID-19, bacteria and other pathogens.

EXCEPTIONAL OCEANSIDE TEEN WINS COUNTY YOUTH OF THE YEAR HONOR FOR BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF OCEANSIDE3/23/2020
Oceanside, CA (March 19, 2020) – Selected among several outstanding youth in San Diego County, Hunter Meyer will compete against other Boys & Girls Club members for the California Youth of the Year title and a $5,000 college scholarship from Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA). The California competition will take place “virtually” on April 15th. The winner was announced today by BGCA, as the San Diego Clubs had to cancel their annual Youth of the Year dinner last Thursday due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Oceanside, CA – Due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, the North County Transit District (NCTD) is experiencing significant declines in ridership and has determined that temporary service reductions will be implemented for COASTER commuter trains. The Oceanside City Council held a special meeting today to adopt a resolution to ratify the Proclamation of Local Emergency signed Monday, March 16, 2020, by the Director of Emergency Services. This step enables the City to take additional legal, operational, and recovery measures that may be needed to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic that is affecting communities in San Diego County and across the nation.

Irvine, CA (March 12, 2020) – The Foothill/Eastern Transportation Corridor Agency (F/ETCA) Board of Directors approved a report today, which in cooperation with the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) and California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), outlines three near-term projects that address South Orange County traffic relief.

Our fellow San Diego seniors, children, working families and members of our military will face economic hardship as a result of layoffs, school closures and health issues. We are currently serving over 350,000 San Diegans per month. These numbers will rapidly increase over the next few weeks and months. Our distribution lines will become longer and our resources will be maxed.
ATLANTA - March 13, 2020 – Cox announced today its support for the FCC’s Keep America Connected initiative as part of the company’s ongoing coronavirus response efforts. As part of its commitment, Cox pledges for the next 60 days to: not terminate service to any residential or small business customer because of an inability to pay their bills due to disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic; waive any late fees that any residential or small business customer incur because of their economic circumstances related to the coronavirus pandemic; and will open Cox WiFi hotspots to help keep the public connected in this time of need.
In accordance with guidance from the County of San Diego and State of California, the Oceanside Parks and Recreation Division is responding to circumstances related to COVID-19 (Coronavirus). As of today, Thursday, March 12, Oceanside Parks and Recreation has suspended all programs and operational hours at all Community and Senior Centers through the end of March. This includes all programs, facility rentals, athletic events, and services. Alternate arrangements will be made for essential services such as the Senior Nutrition Program. Public Lap swim hours will remain in effect as scheduled.
