They will be offering “Incentives, Development, Education, and Access (IDEA)” through education and then employment.
Assessor Dronenburg Certifies 2020 Assessment Roll With a 5.18% Increase Record Savings for Taxpayers & Disabled Veterans San Diego, CA - San Diego County Assessor Ernest J. Dronenburg, Jr. has certified and closed the 2020 assessed value roll of all taxable property with a record setting high value of $604.75 billion reflecting an increase of 5.18 percent (or $29.78 billion) over last year. The 2020 assessment roll is comprised of 1,004,808 real estate parcels, 56,689 business personal property accounts, 13,444 boats and 1,554 aircraft. The County’s net assessed value is $581.53 billion after deducting $23.22 billion from a record high reduction of property tax exemptions that saved over $230 million for homeowners, disabled veterans, and charitable organizations.

Free Online Learning for Oceanside Public Library Users Oceanside Public Library invites unemployed, furloughed or employed part-time workers to register for a free Coursera account through Coursera for Workforce Recovery by emailing READS@oceansideca.org. Eligible participants will have until December 31, 2020 to complete online courses, chosen from the 3000+ options on the Coursera.org learning platform. Coursera for Workforce Recovery is administered through the Oceanside Public Library and made available by Coursera in response to COVID-19.
The City of Oceanside received $4.565 million in state grant funding from the Department of Water Resources (DWR) to expand the City’s compressive water reuse efforts. The state grant funding is available through California’s Integrated Regional Water Management Program, which supports comprehensive water reuse programs like Oceanside’s in order to increase water sustainability throughout California.
The Oceanside Chamber continues to advocate for our small business community. San Juan Capistrano, CA – U.S. Representative Mike Levin led a virtual Veteran Suicide Prevention Summit on Friday with leaders from the from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (VA), local health experts, elected officials, and others. Nearly 100 local veterans and veteran advocates participated in a discussion that Rep. Levin led with Dr. Robert Smith and Dr. Neal Doran from the VA San Diego Healthcare System, San Diego County Board of Supervisors Vice Chair Jim Desmond, and other local leaders about opportunities for stronger collaboration to address the public health crisis of veteran suicide.
In response to San Diego County Department of Health restrictions on indoor operations for certain business types, the City’s streamlined application process is now applicable to affected businesses such as fitness centers, hair salons, barber shops and nail salons. Please select the “commercial operations” field on the application form to apply to operate in a public right of way such as a sidewalk or public parking lot, or in an adjacent private parking lot. MiraCosta College and the City of Oceanside are teaming up on a new initiative allowing residents to enroll in tuition-free, MiraCosta Community Education & Workforce Development job-training programs for the skills and know-how needed for in-demand trades at Oceanside businesses. The Hire Local initiative was launched July 6 and classes begin with the new fall semester. MiraCosta College programs that are part of Hire Local are Biomedical Equipment Technology, Welding, Computer Numeric Control (CNC), Engineering Technician, Machinist Technology, Electronic Assembly Technician, and Phlebotomy.
