Hana Gilbert
Communications and outreach Coordinator
Hana grew up here locally in Vista, CA. Although she attended Valley Center High School, she frequented the beach cities as often as possible. With her father having graduated from El Camino High School and mother from Vista High School, as well as all three of her younger brothers currently attending schools around the Oceanside area, Hana has grown to love Oceanside and its community, both attending and participating in the city’s many offerings.
After graduating from Valley Center High School in 2013, Hana was recruited to play Division 1 softball at Wagner College on Staten Island, NY. Being a team leader, Hana was taught the importance of responsibility, teamwork and a positive attitude. She spent four years in the Big Apple, learning everything both her team and the city had to teach her. During her senior year, she had the opportunity to intern with Project Soulmate, a professional matchmaking service located in Manhattan, NY. There she acted as the social media manager in charge of maintaining a positive online brand image, publishing blog posts and recruiting new clientele through other online platforms.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Marketing, Hana decided to attend graduate school in the south. She was accepted into Murray State University’s Journalism and Mass Communications graduate program. To fully immerse herself into southern hospitality, Hana worked local in the town’s most popular spot, Cracker Barrel. As a sales associate in their retail department, she interacted with customers regularly, learning a multitude of vital customer service skills and various sales techniques.
In 2020, Hana graduated from Murray State University with an MS in Journalism and Mass Communications. For the Chamber, Hana handles various marketing tasks including the eNewsletter, website, social media, Advancing Oceanside Podcast and much more. She is excited to be a part of the Chamber and is looking forward to, not only working with, but learning from successful businesses in a prosperous community.
