However, while more and more businesses are getting a Facebook page, how well does yours work? And more importantly, what have you been doing with it?
- FIND TIME: Worse than not having a Facebook Page for your business is having one, and ignoring it. When your customers look for you – and they will! – and they find out that your page hasn’t been updated for a month, a lot will run through their minds, but a couple things for sure: amateurism, laziness and/or disorganization. You don’t want to give them that impression! Find time to post at least one update a week.
- IMPROVE YOUR VISUAL: Make sure your COVER PICTURE and your PROFILE PICTURE are within Facebook required sizes, so they don’t look “stretched” or they don’t fit the space the way it should, especially after the recent changes in layout! Also, make sure they are professional and attractive. Here are Facebook current specs: for the Cover Picture 828 px X 315 px and for the Profile Picture 180 px X 180 px.
- ABOUT SECTION: Don’t leave it blank! And, on the LONG DESCRIPTION item, make sure you use the space to its full capacity. Here is where you can give details about your services/products and also introduce yourself. There is no other place on your page to do that, so make sure you use this space to be very clear on who you are, your background and how it is related to your business, what it is that you do, how you do it and even why you do it. Tell the world what your solution is for their problem!
So those are 3 simple steps you can take now that will improve your page. By following these steps and putting some time into the type of content you post, you can definitely see results on your Facebook page right away!
