San Diego Spine and Rehab: A True Asset

The impact San Diego Spine and Rehab has made on the North County community cannot be measured.  Over the last five years they have helped countless individuals recover from any ailment or injury and help them to live pain free.  They see upwards of 150 patients in their Oceanside office each day for specialized physical therapy treatment.  SDSR also attends 25-30 community events per month where they offer free chair massages and teach individuals about how their services can help people live pain free.  Let’s face it, almost everyone has a bad something – back, neck, hip, shoulder, anything.

SDSR is passionate about their mission to educate people about the benefits of integrated medicine; they combine chiropractic, physical therapy, massage, along with other specialized treatments to help their patients feel better, get better, but most importantly, stay better.  San Diego Spine and Rehab is completely dedicated to helping patients succeed.  Not only does the staff give patients a customized treatment plan to help heal any ailments, but they also educate the patients on exercises that can be done at home so the healing process can happen more rapidly.

San Diego Spine and Rehab opened in the fall of 2009 in Oceanside.  Shortly after opening the Oceanside location, SDSR was able to expand and open another branch in Mission Valley.  As of June 2014, SDSR opened its sister practice in Chula Vista, called South Bay Physical Medicine.  The SDSR branch in Oceanside employs roughly 55 people; the majority of whom live in Oceanside and Camp Pendleton.  They are constantly growing and providing new job opportunities to San Diego County.  Between the three branches, they provide jobs to over 100 people.

Much has changed since the original opening in 2009, but the top-notch quality care given to patients has remained the same.  San Diego Spine and Rehab had to find a way to accommodate for the growing number of patients, so they tore down walls for an expansion, they did a complete floor renovation to give patients more space, and they enlarged the children’s play room by purchasing some of the building next door.  Along with the physical aspects of changing the business, SDSR is constantly sending their staff to specialized training seminars.  They not only do this to expand business in terms of total number of services offered, but the staff is also more knowledgeable about what types of treatment will help to heal each patient individually.

Accessibility of care is not an issue for San Diego Spine and Rehab.  They open early in the morning and close late at night.  They provide complimentary child care for every patient.  SDSR has created a warm and welcoming family atmosphere between the staff and the patients.  The family atmosphere is a reason the employee retention is so high, people enjoy being there.

Sondra Holtz, Director of Patient Services, said “San Diego Spine and Rehab is the type of place where employees want to be at work.  We are centered on a family atmosphere.  People are happy, smiling and laughing and that becomes contagious.  Some patients come to their first appointment in a wheelchair and are able to walk out the door just within a few visits.  We constantly see life-changing cases - that inspires us to want to come to work every day.”

Holtz credited the success of the business to the patients.  When the patients are dedicated to their well-being, the staff is motivated to provide the best care possible.  When the patients heal, they typically tell their friends and family about the great experience.  Then their friends and family come in seeking treatment and the cycle repeats.    SDSR makes it accessible for the staff to provide great care.  They are not afraid to invest in the latest equipment if it means patients will get better.  Due to all of the staff training, SDSR is on the forefront of the latest physical therapy technology and has first-hand knowledge of what patients really need.

San Diego Spine and Rehab also has a dedicated event staff team that is constantly out in the community.  They not only are a major sponsor of many local events throughout the year, but also offer free chair massages to participants at these events.  They host many socials in the office after hours for various local organizations as well as donating effort and money to various charities and military units.  Clearly they know the benefits of their work and work extremely hard to be in the community as much as possible.

San Diego Spine and Rehab is a true asset to Oceanside and the entire North County San Diego community.  For more details about SDSR, go here.
