After the necessary preliminaries, we took our seats and departed for what was a smooth ride in the blue skies. Traveling west along the San Luis Rey River we enjoyed panoramic views of our beautiful city from a spectacular perspective. As we approached the Oceanside Small Craft Harbor, the Pacific Ocean was absolutely beautiful in different hues of blue and we spotted dozens of surfers riding the waves along the coastline. Looking back along the shore from the sky was stunning and gave us all a new appreciation for the city in which we live. One of the highlights, of course, was viewing Oceanside’s iconic pier from a view few have experienced.
As we rounded back to the airport via Oceanside Boulevard and El Camino Real, Pilot Kurt informed the Chamber team that his next flight was a wedding proposal. We exited the helicopter and decided we would “crash” their party. We discreetly informed the would-be groom, Oscar, that we would wait for their return so that photographer Vannie could memorialize the happy occasion. As they landed, the happy couple was beaming. Oscar reenacted his proposal while on one knee and his joyful fiancé, Stephanie, showed off her ring. The Waverider helicopter made for a very cool backdrop!
We all agreed a Waverider tour is a must for any resident or visitor, for any occasion or proposal! Our ten minute tour was very affordable and well worth the price. There are a variety of Waverider Helicopter Tours available for every budget, that vary in price, length and location. It was an absolute thrill to fly above our city and enjoy unobstructed views for miles and miles. We’re looking forward to our next trip!
