However, this time the changes made a massive shift on how we are using Facebook from now on, and it’s affecting business pages in a huge way. After the doomsday feeling, for us Marketers, subsided, we were able to recognize the silver lining coming from it: now there is a very clear message from Facebook on what they’re really favoring when it comes to content: Live Streaming! What is Live Streaming exactly?
Live Streaming is any kind of live broadcast, transmitted over the internet. In itself, it’s not new, but inside a Social Media powerhouse like Facebook, at the time that the biggest media company in the world is giving its focus and status it deserves, businesses have to take advantage of its freshness before it might be too late. But the LIVE videos on Facebook are around since 2016, why all the buzz now? The smart heads on Facebook found out that recorded videos are too passive and do not create real engagement, but LIVE streaming is where people really connect! On a business page, LIVE videos allows you to connect and interact with your audience in real time. It breaks down barriers, because they can talk with you while you’re LIVE, creating a connection that transcends traditional marketing limitations. In a nutshell, Facebook LIVE is a must for businesses for a couple of reasons. Here are the TOP 4: 1- PEOPLE PREFER LIVE VIDEOS: Video has been at the top on any research as the favorite choice of media for everyone online, and people are engaging more with LIVE videos than any other type. 2- FACEBOOK PREFERS LIVE VIDEOS: Not only Facebook notifies people that you’re LIVE, but Facebook gives a HUGE FREE reach boost to LIVE videos, meaning LIVE videos are ranking higher than any other type of content in the news feed. 3- LIVE VIDEOS INCREASE TRAFFIC: Facebook Live is a powerful source of traffic for your Page and once your video streams live, it can stay on the site so customers can watch and react to it later, and share the video with friends and family, potentially increasing its reach again. 4- LIVE VIDEOS ARE COST AND TIME EFFECTIVE: Facebook Live is inexpensive to produce and it takes less time because it doesn’t involve shooting a big pile of video footage and then editing it. Should I say more? LIVE video is what’s driving engagement now and if you know how to promote your content well, it could keep users coming back to your page, on a never-ending cycle of engagement.
