San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), one of San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institutions, is continuing to proudly honor San Diego County teachers through SDCCU Classroom Heroes, launched in partnership with the San Diego County Office of Education.
Do you know an outstanding teacher? SDCCU and the San Diego County Office of Education recognize three local “Classroom Heroes” educators every quarter. Winning teachers will receive a $250 Visa gift card and be featured on SDCCU’s social media platforms. “SDCCU is proud to recognize caring and innovative local teachers through our SDCCU Classroom Heroes program,” said SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Campbell. “We appreciate their hard work and dedication, and we want to show our community the positive difference these educators are making.” Galvanized Strategies, a strategic communications consulting firm, today announced a new leadership appointment to advance its public affairs advisory ambition and unify its go-forward approach in key markets. Aaron Byzak, who recently served on the executive leadership team for Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, Calif., has been appointed the Chief Strategist and Lead Consultant. Byzak’s background in healthcare external affairs and executive leadership, coupled with his experience in managing corporate crises, community engagement, and state and federal policy initiatives for Tri-City Medical Center and industry giants such as UC San Diego Health Sciences, as well as various healthcare, non-profit, and advocacy organizations, uniquely positions him to drive impact in this critical area.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned to mark the opening of the new Kinesiology, Health, and Nutrition (KHAN) Building and Gymnasium Complex at the Oceanside campus. The 40,415 square feet complex replaced the existing gym buildings (5000, 5100, and 5200) to create a consolidated location for a new gymnasium, athletics instruction spaces, and the Wellness Center.
The $41.3 million complex includes locker rooms, equipment storage, and a multi-purpose studio. It is part of the Health and Wellness Academic Hub on campus and is part of a design-build procurement that includes the new Allied Health Building and Parking Lot-5A.
