The City of Oceanside was notified this week that it will receive $2.623 Million in funding from the Bureau of Reclamation’s WaterSMART's Desalination Construction Projects under the WIIN Act, subject to Federal appropriations. The funding will be used to construct two extraction wells within the Mission Basin as well as brine minimization treatment components. The project will increase the supply of locally-sourced water as well as reduce the volume of brine discharged to the Pacific Ocean via the Oceanside Ocean Outfall.

The Oceanside Mural Initiative (OMI) seeks to install three public art murals over the course of three years in Downtown Oceanside. OMI is a community driven initiative, and will integrate key partners in the downtown region of Oceanside. Through this initiative, Oceanside will become a destination for public art and improve the image of our downtown district through beautification projects.
The three murals presented below are the finalists in a process conducted by the Oceanside Mural Initiative Committee. We are seeking a public vote to choose the second OMI mural to be installed on the building located at 326 N. Horne Street. |
