Improvements are coming to Interstate 5 (I-5) along the north coastal San Diego County corridor11/30/2018
Caltrans and SANDAG will break ground in early December to extend the carpool lane on I-5 in each direction between Manchester Avenue in the City of Encinitas and Palomar Airport Road in the City of Carlsbad. In addition, the double tracking of the coastal rail line, bike/pedestrian path improvements, restoration of the San Elijo Lagoon, and replacement of the I-5 highway and rail bridges over the San Elijo Lagoon are already underway in the community of Cardiff-by-the-Sea.

Oceanside crews have been making storm preparations a priority. The clearing of storm drains is ongoing, and the City’s emergency responders have plans in place and will be monitoring flood-prone areas. Public Works will continue to evaluate streets and remove debris from roads and storm drains when the next storm arrives. The Water Utilities Department is ensuring that the City’s water and sewer infrastructure is as prepared as possible for expected heavy rainfall, such as lowering the reservoir levels to ensure excess capacity. SAN DIEGO – Scripps Health has achieved a 25 percent reduction in the average number of tablets per opioid prescription ordered for patients at its hospitals and outpatient centers across San Diego County during the first year of its Opioid Stewardship Program (OSP). The IRS urges taxpayers who make payments or receive payments to check out Publication 1281, Backup Withholding for Missing and Incorrect Name/TIN(s). The newly revised publication helps taxpayers understand how tax reform affects backup withholding. Backup withholding can apply to most kinds of payments reported on Form 1099.

It allows a taxpayer to recover the cost or other basis of certain property over the time that they use it. These recreation leagues teach youth the fundamental skills, rules, and strategy of basketball for players of all skill levels (beginner to advanced). All players play half of each quarter each game under the equal play rule. Teams are balanced to ensure fairness and fun for everyone. Practices and games are held once a week from December 1, 2018, through March 2, 2019; there is a break for the holidays.
