Carlsbad, CA - The Army and Navy Academy is proud to announce that Cadet Kenneth Zhang, at the young age of 13, has performed on the iconic stage of New York’s Carnegie Hall, adding an extraordinary milestone to his journey as a nationally and internationally acclaimed violinist.
On April 1, Kenneth performed Sarasate's "Zigeuenerweisen" as a soloist at the 4th Laureate Gala hosted by Progressive Musicians and Sound Espressivo. Joined by his parents, Yudong and Mei Zhang, his violin teacher, Mr. James Greening-Valenzuela, and the Academy’s Middle School Commandant, Staff Sergeant Paul Nixon (USMC Retired), Kenneth’s achievement speaks volumes of his remarkable passion and commitment to his art.  Oceanside, CA (April 8, 2024) – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside’s unique ROAD’s program, which provides opportunities and activities for adults with disabilities to reach their fullest potential, has been awarded a Foundation for Developmental Disabilities grant. The $14,860 grant will be used to support the ROAD’s Fit & Fun Program.
The daily Fit & Fun program aims to improve the mental and physical health of our R.O.A.D.’s members as they join in a variety of fun, accessible fitness activities. We offer an array of engaging Fit & Fun experiences, including gym workouts, water activities, yoga, hiking, Zumba, tennis, basketball, and dancing. “This program is so critical to the health and well-being of our ROAD’s members, and we see first-hand the positive effect it has on all aspects of their health. The new vessel was custom built by Copper Marine in
Florida for Oceanside Adventures and will be the 2nd boat for the Oceanside Adventures company owned by the Hansen Family to operate from Oceanside Harbor. Oceanside Adventures first launched operations from Oceanside Harbor in July of 2015 with its unique 47 foot custom catamaran also built by Copper Marine in Florida. |
