BGCA CEO & President, Jim Clark with Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside CEO, Jodi Diamond and BGCO Board Members Oceanside, California (April 5, 2023) – The President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Jim Clark, visited Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside on Tuesday this week for an official visit and tour of the Club.
Operation HOPE-North County is pleased to announce the appointment of Jaime (Jimmy) Figueroa as their new Executive Director.
On March 11, 2021, the American Recue Plan Act (ARPA) was signed into law, allocating $32.3 million of Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds to the City of Oceanside. As part of its ARPA spending plan, the Oceanside City Council approved $1 million to be used for grants to local nonprofit organizations negatively impacted by COVID-19.
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA–October 25, 2021– Cox Charities has awarded a total of $180,000 in grants to 22 California nonprofit organizations that are meeting the needs of our community and support youth, education, conservation or the military. Cox Charities, one of Cox Communications’ giving programs that is funded by employee donations and a company match, has been serving California communities since 1999.
Last month, with the support of over 13 community partners, Fieldstone Leadership Network San Diego launched the Nonprofit Board Exchange in hopes of expanding and equalizing opportunities for individuals to serve as nonprofit board members. The site also includes information on local educational offerings focused on board leadership. OCEANSIDE, CA – In the spirit of giving, Frontwave Credit Union sponsored four local military families this holiday season through Camp Pendleton’s Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) Secret Santa Program. Frontwave shopped for and purchased gifts on the families’ wish lists and delivered them to the Camp Pendleton ASYMCA, where they were distributed just before the holidays, ensuring each family member had something special to celebrate the season with.

To meet the need of San Diego County students and families without home computers for distance learning during the pandemic, Cox Communications, the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, the San Diego County Office of Education, and San Diego Councilman Chris Cate, District 6 are joining together with Computers 2 Kids to rally businesses and the public countywide for a month-long computer drive to benefit local students.

SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom has signed Senate Bill 934 by Senator Patricia Bates (R-Laguna Niguel) into law that will eliminate filing fees for non-profit organizations applying for a state tax exemption. Senator Bates authored SB 934 in partnership with the Franchise Tax Board (FTB).
