 Full mainstage production of popular musical featuring local youth (Oceanside, CA) – A culmination of its Youth Theater Camp, Oceanside Theatre Company (OTC) presents Bye Bye Birdie (Young Performer Edition) at the historic Brooks Theater in downtown Oceanside from August 5-7, 2022. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m..  Oceanside, CA - JUNE 3rd, 2022 – TNT and The Oceanside International Film Festival will exclusively screen a Shawn Hatosy-directed episode of the critically acclaimed series “Animal Kingdom,” on Wednesday, June 22. Supported by Visit Oceanside, the event will take place at the historic Star Theatre, located within the Oceanside Cultural District at 402 N. Coast Hwy, Oceanside, CA. The sixth and final season of the explosive family crime drama, “Animal Kingdom,” returns Sunday, June 19 with back-to-back episodes starting at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on TNT.
 The MiraCosta Music Department has received two 2022 Student Music Awards from the nation’s premier jazz magazine, DownBeat.
 The Art of Music theme was inspired by the donation of over 300 pieces of sheet music. Jean Einum Bland offered her Mother’s vintage collection to OCAF – to do with it as they wished. So Board members decided to create unique, one-of-a-kind art pieces. Bundles of music by category include: Broadway Shows, Irving Berlin, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Rudy Valee, Other Well-Known Singers, Christmas, Religious, Hawaiian, States. All with gratitude to Jean and her mother, Kathryn Burke Einum.

The contaminated water that affected thousands of residents of Flint, Michigan gets a fresh retelling in a new play, Flint, being presented at MiraCosta College starting April 28.

 With new 20-year Brooks Theater Lease in place, Alex Goodman, a mainstay in San Diego Theatre, appointed Managing Director to chart OTC’s future (Oceanside, CA) – Now in its 11th year of operations, Oceanside Theatre Company (OTC), the resident professional performing arts company at the “Sunshine” Brooks Theater, has served as stewards of the historic, city-owned theater and adjoining Studio 219 on North Coast Highway in Oceanside since the organization’s inception. Located in the heart of downtown Oceanside, the Brooks Theater is the cultural center point of this North County region, uniquely recognized as only one of 14 inaugural Cultural Districts designated by the State of California.

 The Oceanside Public Library is excited to partner with Studio ACE to host a free series of online art talks and virtual art making activities for Older Adults in Oceanside this Spring. ACE Executive Director Julia Fister will pre-record talks that focus on different "ism’s" in Art History. Each talk will highlight one artist each month to illustrate selected movements in Art History. Then, a teaching artist will pair the theme with a live, virtual art making class (over Zoom) to further illustrate the movement. Studio ACE is an education arts space located in Oceanside with a mission of enriching lives through Arts, Community, and Education.

Studio ACE was founded in 2018 by Executive Director Julia Fister who worked for many years in nonprofit arts organizations.
