The jazz program at MiraCosta College will host more than 40 performing groups from schools and professional groups around the United States and Canada as part of the 13th Annual Oceanside Jazz Festival, to be held at the college's Oceanside Campus, located at 1 Barnard Drive. Jazz choirs will perform during the day on April 11--13, and jazz bands will perform during the day on May 4. Daytime school performances, clinics and master classes are open to the public and free of charge. Each day will culminate in an evening performance featuring MiraCosta College jazz ensembles performing with prominent guest artists.

The Oceanside Public Library will be offering a thirteen-week Citizenship Class for eligible students to prepare for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) Naturalization Test. Classes will be held at the Civic Center Library in the second-floor Foundation Room on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m., beginning on April 3. In this class, students will learn about U.S. history and government, and prepare for the citizenship interview. Classes will be taught by volunteer teachers who have classroom experience and training specific to the topic.
