​LATEST COVID-19 CONFIRMED CASES
The San Diego County Department of Health posts daily late afternoon updates on confirmed cases in the County. Through Saturday, April 4, 2020, there were 1209 confirmed cases in the County and 29 confirmed cases in Oceanside. These reports are also listed on the City of Oceanside COVD-19 webpages, along with a specific-to-Oceanside graph.

BEACH CLOSURES
In accordance with the recent San Diego County Health Order, Oceanside Beaches have been closed to the public until further notice for all activities, including water activities such as surfing/swimming. The Strand is also be closed for walking/driving, except to residents living there in order to access their property, and Oceanside parking lots west of the train tracks remain closed. The Oceanside Pier and boat ramp at the Oceanside Harbor have also been closed. Harbor parking lots are closed except for slip renter parking and restaurant pick-up spots.

OTHER CITY FACILITY CLOSURES AND SERVICE CHANGES
All Oceanside playgrounds and skateparks have been closed. Both the Oceanside Municipal Golf Course and the Goat Hill Golf Course are closed. Library facilities are closed, but e-Books are available online and home delivery is now available. City Council meetings are closed to the public but citizens may watch and participate online. The City’s essential services continue. There are many ways to continue to do business with the City online or via phone.

FACE COVERINGS
County and State officials are encouraging residents to start wearing facial coverings when leaving home for essential activities, such as grocery shopping, in addition to continuing to practice social distancing and hand washing. They have also updated the Public Health Order to include mandatory facial covering for all employees that come in contact with the public, such as grocery stores, gas stations, and pharmacies. This order took effect April 4 at midnight. The face coverings for residents or essential business employees don’t need to be medical masks. They can simply be a bandana, a scarf, or a turtleneck pulled up over your mouth and nose. These items can be washed and reused. Details

HELP FOR OCEANSIDE BUSINESSES AND RESIDENTS
In addition to actions taken to help small business owners by the State of California, the President signed the CARES Act, which contains $376 billion in relief for American workers and small businesses. Additionally, the City of Oceanside has created a utility service relief program for business that must remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To take advantage of the program, call Utility Billing at (760) 735-3900. Private residences will not have their water shut off during the crisis for non-payment. The City has also issued an urgency ordinance that has created a moratorium on commercial and residential evictions for those affected by the COVID-19 crisis, and the City Council voted on March 25 to provide additional financial support to expand meal programs to those in need. The issuance of parking citations related to street sweeping has also been suspended until further notice.
