Oceanside, CA— The North County Transit District (NCTD) is pleased to once again offer free rides on buses and trains after 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. During the Christmas and New Year’s holiday, NCTD will offer the following service schedules: Christmas Eve: On Tuesday, December 24, all NCTD buses and trains will operate on a normal schedule.
Christmas Day: On Wednesday, December 25, all NCTD buses and trains will operate on a Sunday schedule. New Year’s Eve: On Tuesday, December 31, all NCTD buses and trains will operate on a normal schedule with additional late-night train service. The SPRINTER will operate four additional trains - two eastbound trains departing Oceanside Transit Center (1:03 a.m. and 2:03 a.m.) and two westbound trains departing Escondido Transit Center (12:03 a.m. and 1:03 a.m.). The COASTER will operate two additional trains - one southbound train departing Oceanside Transit Center (11 p.m.) and one northbound train departing Santa Fe Depot (12:45 a.m.). After 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, all NCTD transportation services (including LIFT paratransit) will operate free of charge. This promotion does not apply to Amtrak Pacific Surfliner Rail-2-Rail trains. New Year’s Day: On Wednesday, January 1, all NCTD buses and trains will operate on a Sunday schedule.
