This year is especially exciting for Visit Oceanside as we launch the process for Oceanside’s first Sustainable Tourism Master Plan; a 10-year action plan for stewarding tourism growth towards a sustainable future that benefits the economy, environment, and community. True to our innovative spirit, we are one of just two California destinations to develop a plan based on the best practices and criteria set forth by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, which aims to help tourism fulfill its potential as a vehicle for social, cultural, and economic good while removing and avoiding any negative impacts from its activities in terms of environmental and social impacts.
Key to the development of the plan is input from everyone in our community. We are asking that Oceanside businesses with a stake in the tourism economy complete a short DNEXT survey to help determine if there are any gaps, key issues, and opportunities for potential products, amenities, education, programming, and experiences that would benefit the tourism industry in Oceanside. The survey will be live through March 15 and can be accessed here or scan the QR code. As a thank you for your time, survey responders will be entered to win a stay at Mission Pacific Hotel or Seabird Resort.
For all of us at Visit Oceanside, embarking on this master plan stems from our love for Oceanside and our desire for it to thrive for many years to come. We hope you’ll follow along with us on the journey. For more information about Visit Oceanside’s Sustainable Tourism Master Plan and to stay connected, please visit LoveOceanside.com.
