The San Diego Food Bank urgently requests your continued support now more than ever. The needs of the populations we serve are growing. Our fellow San Diego seniors, children, working families and members of our military will face economic hardship as a result of layoffs, school closures and health issues. We are currently serving over 350,000 San Diegans per month. These numbers will rapidly increase over the next few weeks and months. Our distribution lines will become longer and our resources will be maxed. Donations and volunteers in our warehouse are needed. Cash donations and virtual food drives are encouraged. To learn more about our volunteer shifts and to donate, please go to our Food Bank website.
Hosting a Virtual Food Drive is an impactful way to help as well. We can set up a customized webpage with your logo that acts like a virtual grocery store where users can purchase our most-needed items for the Food Bank. You will receive a link to your Virtual Food Drive that you can then share with your event attendees, staff, friends, and family, providing them an opportunity to support us from the safety and comfort of their homes. Learn more about how you can help. Please contact Athena Williford at [email protected] for questions on your virtual food drive. Food facilities that are self-closing who may have extra food that will not be used, can partner with the San Diego Food Bank to arrange for a donation pick-up or drop off. Please contact Kimberly Castillo at [email protected] or call her at (858) 863-5133. Be well and remember we are all in this together! Comments are closed.
