CARLSBAD, Calif. (April 3, 2020) – As families search for fun, educational activities for their kids to do during their time at home due to the Coronavirus, LEGOLAND® California Resort has created an online site that is filled with instructional videos and activities that promote learning, creating and play. Through the Resort’s website, kids and families can access the new fun-filled site called “LEGOLAND Building Challenge”. Every Wednesday, the Park that is built for kids will announce a new theme and release a new instructional “how to build” video hosted by a Master Model Builder. On Fridays, LEGOLAND will highlight builds posted by followers on the Resort’s social media sites and ask families for ideas on what the Resort’s Master Model Builders should construct next. The first instructional video on the site featured Master Model Builder PJ Catalano building a birthday cupcake in honor of the Park’s 21st birthday. “So many children are missing out on birthday parties and celebrating their birthday at the Park, so we thought a birthday theme seemed fitting as our inaugural build,” said LEGOLAND California Resort’s General Manager Kurt Stocks. In addition to the builds, the site will feature other activities including coloring pages, trivia, word games and more.
All activities on the LEGOLAND Building Challenge site are free and available for everyone to enjoy. Need some LEGO® to build new creations? Families looking for new LEGO® sets for their kids to build during this time can go online and purchase sets that aren’t usually for sale in the Park’s Big Shop, plus receive free shipping!
