Pacific Marine Credit Union is changing its name to Frontwave Credit Union

​We're changing our name, not our commitment to you.

From the beginning, the name, Pacific Marine Credit Union, was polarizing and created confusion. Are you only open to Marines? Are you a boating company? How do I join? Can I use your services? In fact, in a research study we conducted last year, more than 25% of our members (our own members!) said that they did not feel a local friend would be able to use our credit union if he or she wanted to. Two out of every three non-members were unsure or felt they could not use our credit union. Our name was not serving us well.

​We believe our new name will eliminate that confusion and resonate extremely well with both our Marines and Community Members. Frontwave Credit Union is a reflection of our history, legacy, philosophy of service, and commitment to our membership. There are not many communities like this one. Home to the world’s greatest fighting forces – and a community of people fighting every day for their families, their friends, and for what’s right. Our members bank here not just because of low loan rates, or low fees, but because we get stuff done and we help make things possible. Many of you have told us that you bank with us because we provide excellent customer service…that will not change! In fact, it’s going to get even better!

We will continue to invest in our membership and in our future. Over the past 18 months, we have launched new Mobile and Online Banking platforms, opened two new branches on Camp Pendleton, one new branch in Wildomar, and will open yet another new branch in Escondido in November. Along with our new name and brand, we will be launching a new website, updating the look and feel of our Mobile and Online Banking platforms, and much more!
While our name and brand may be changing, the people who serve you at the credit union and our core values of Passion, Innovation, and Excellence are not.
