The Oceanside Chamber’s Advance Oceanside Political Action Committee (AOPAC) has spent much of the last 2 months interviewing and evaluating Candidates for Oceanside’s District 1 and District 2 City Council seats.
Last week AOPAC brought its recommendations to the Chamber Board for approval. As a result, the Chamber Board has endorsed Rick Robinson for the Oceanside City Council District 2 seat. Robinson, who has served as Oceanside’s Fire Chief since 2016 will officially retire from the position at the end of July. With a desire to continue actively serving the residents of Oceanside, Robinson decided to make a run at the Council seat in District 2, where he and his wife have lived for many years. Mike Levin (D-CA) is leading to support desalination projects and strengthen the electric grid threatened by wildfires.

That’s why SDCCU Stuff the Bus is once again collecting monetary donations to purchase back-to-school supplies for students experiencing homelessness—to help set these students up for success in the coming school year. Washington, D.C. – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the bipartisan Restoring Hope for Mental Health and Well-Being Act, a comprehensive bill to address mental health care and substance use disorder. The bill includes Rep. Mike Levin’s (D-CA) legislation to improve sober living homes by authorizing a federal study on the quality and effectiveness of recovery housing and to identify recommendations to strengthen the quality of recovery housing. The provisions come from Rep. Levin’s Studying Outcomes and Benchmarks for Effective Recovery (SOBER) Homes Act.

That total includes $7 million to help the North County Transit District (NCTD) improve SPRINTER service, $7 million to improve infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists on Lomas Santa Fe Drive, $4.48 million to enhance the Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) program in San Diego County, $3.47 million to invest in the Orange County Intelligence Assessment Center (OCIAC), and more.

New State Regulations Ban Watering of Non-functional Grass As of May 24, new statewide regulations prohibit watering decorative grass in common areas of subdivisions and homeowners associations, as well as on commercial, industrial, and institutional properties.
