Tri-City Medical Center has been serving the residents of Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista and the surrounding communities for nearly 60 years and is focused on providing the highest quality care to our patients and community. As you know, there is an elevated level of concern about infectious diseases in our region, most notably Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Below you will find a list of some of the measures that Tri-City Medical Center is taking to protect our patients, employees and the broader community relating to COVID-19:
Preparation
- Engaged with local, state and federal agencies for all updates
- Implementing CDC and CDPH guidelines
- Coordinating with the County of San Diego
- Ensuring proper inventory of supplies for patients and staff
Patient Screening and Visitor Restrictions
- Restricting entry at medical center entrances
- Screening protocols for all patients and visitors
- No guests 14 and under permitted at this time
- No visitors with fever, cough, shortness of breath, contact with COVID-19 confirmed patients or who have travel outside of US to high risk areas
- Patients requiring emergency services will be directed to the emergency department
- Increased staff education about COVID-19
- Enhanced signage for better communication
- Enhanced decontamination procedures
- Increased number of sanitation stations around medical center
- Required hand sanitization upon entry
Community Outreach
- Information provided to community partners and care providers by email, website and social media
- Emergency Medical Services (EMS) collaboration
- Alignment with CDC recommendations for large scale events

Oceanside Public Safety Officials and the County of San Diego Health & Human Services Agency are working closely with federal and state partners to monitor an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and are mobilized to respond in our region. Oceanside Public Safety is coordinating on potential response needs, including a continuity of operations plan for necessary City services. Residents are encouraged to check the San Diego County webpage, and look for regular updates in the City of Oceanside's newsletter and social media.
