Gwinn joined LexisNexis with more than 12 years of experience as a Crime Analyst, most recently with the FBI Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (ViCAP) Unit, where she provided investigative support for homicide, sexual assault, missing persons, and unidentified remains cases. She also served on the development team for the ViCAP Web contributory law enforcement database. Prior to joining the FBI, Gwinn was a Crime Analyst with the San Diego Police Department, working closely with two area commands and the Sex Crimes Unit. She also spent 2½ years with the San Diego Unified School District Police Department, where she developed and presented curricula on how campus police officers can engage in community policing and problem solving. Gwinn served as Treasurer for the International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA), and co-chaired the creation of the IACA's law enforcement analyst certification program. Gwinn is a board member for End Violence Against Women-International, with whom she has volunteered since 2013. She holds a BA in psychology and a master's degree in criminal justice and criminology.
