San Bernardino, California (May 25, 2022) – This Memorial Day, all 171 Stater Bros. Markets locations participated in the National Moment of Remembrance. The National Moment of Remembrance, established by an Act of Congress in 2000, designates 3:00 p.m. local time on Memorial Day each year as a moment to pause, in an act of national unity, to honor the men and women of the United States who died in military service to the United States. At exactly 3:00 p.m. PT on Monday, May 30, 2022, every Stater Bros. store manager asked all customers and employees in their store to pause for a one-minute moment of silence to honor and remember our fallen heroes. In addition, Bugles Across America partnered with Stater Bros. for a bugler to play a live rendition of Taps following the moment of silence at the locations listed below: • 9750 Nineteenth Street, Alta Loma 91737 • 1145 East Alosta Avenue, Azusa 91702 • 6989 Schaefer Avenue, Chino 91710 • 7814 Firestone Blvd, Downey 90241 • 3770 Mission Avenue, Oceanside 92054 • 2170 Vista Way, Oceanside 92054 • 1390 N. About Bugles Across America Bugles Across America, NFP was founded in 2000 by Tom Day, when Congress passed legislation stating that Veterans have a right to at least two uniformed military people to fold the flag and play Taps on a CD player. Bugles Across America was founded to take this a step further. In recognition of the service these Veterans have provided to their country, we felt that they each deserve a live rendition of Taps by a real bugler. To this end, we are actively seeking capable volunteers to provide this valuable service to Veterans and their families. STATER BROS.
